This began with an advance round in which they located, listed, and delivered a leaflet to, all properties in the ED. The form was then delivered to an adult member of all households, and for those whose first language was not English a translation of questions where required. Enumerators also checked whether more than one household lived at an address, identified absent households (recording estimated number of usual residents, number of rooms and accommodation type) and attempted to assign all unoccupied addresses to a category e.g. vacant; second home etc.
