This census was limited, like the first two censuses. 'Overseers of the poor' and parish clergy noted the numbers of individuals and families in parishes, the numbers of baptisms, marriages and burials recorded in parochial registers and the numbers of individuals or families working in a few basic economic categories. There was one difference from the 1811 census - more detailed enumeration of ages was required.
